CASTELLVÍ DE LA MARCA
Region : Catalonia
Province : Barcelona
Official blazon
Escut caironat: de sinople, un castell obert d'or amb 4 pals de gules. Per timbre una corona mural de poble.
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on April 6, 1999.
Canting arms: they show a "castell" (Catalan for "castle"), with the royal arms of Catalonia-Aragon inside (four red pales on gold). The castle of Castellví was the centre of the "marca" of Penedès (a march, that's a frontier area between the Catalan counties and the Muslim land).
