DIOCESE OF MANDEVILLE (Dioecesis Mandevillensis)
Country : Jamaica
Denomination : Roman Catholic
Established : 1997
Official blazon
Origin/meaning
The chief contains an anchor on a background of wavy blue lines. This heraldic symbol of water is used because Jamaica is surrounded by water. The anchor is a symbol of hope, signifying the fact that Mary; Mother of Holy Hope is the Patroness of the Diocese. St. Paul of the Cross, Founder of the Passionist Congregation, is patron of the Mandeville Pro-Cathedral, hence the Passionist badge is in the center of the cross.
Arms of Bishops
Paul Michael Boyle (1997-2004)
Gordon Dunlap Bennett (2004-2006)
Neil Edward Tiedemann (2008-2016)
John Derek Persaud (2020-present)
