Origin/meaning

The arms are composed of a blue field with a golden Cross of Faith Latin throughout.

The silver dolphin entwined was the emblem used on coins by the Greek City Syracuse of ancient Sicily. The silver crescent honors Mary in her title of Immaculate Conception, patroness of the USA and the diocese of Syracuse.
