Origin/meaning

The esculap staff is the worldwide known symbol for the medical profession, it has even been determined by the WHO as a professional emblem for doctors. The trident is that of Neptune because he is named as god of the sea and thus rules the entire underwater world. After all, the DMC provides underwater medicine for both the DDG and the Submarine Service.
