Origin/meaning

These arms have been officially granted on 25th September 2001.

These arms are canting: they show a "pont" (Catalan for "bridge"). The town belonged, since the 15^th century, to the monastery of Santes Creus, and that is symbolized by the two abbot staffs at each side of the bridge and by the cross above, a canting element (Santes Creus meaning literally "Holy Crosses").
