Origin/meaning

The fleur-de-lys is taken from the arms of the abbey of St. Vincent in Metz, which had many possessions in the village. The two barbels are taken from the arms of the Duchy of bar, in which the village was situated. The key in base refers to an ancient priory in the municipality, which was dependent on the abbey of St. Pierremont.
