Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on November 6, 1979.

The crosier refers to the Brauweiler Abbey, which was given some possessions in the area as early as 1051. The wheatears refer to the long agricultural character of the village since pre-Roman times.

The deer head with cross is the symbol of St. Hubertus, the local patron saint since 1716.
