Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on May 10, 1995.

The central cross refers to the 17th century precious shrine in the local church and the red border highlights the courage of the local people. The corn and grapes refer to the agricultural character of the municipality. The corn is shown as the most exclusive red corn cultivated here. The base symbolises the Atlantic Ocean.
