Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on March 13, 1984.

The dragon is taken from the seal of the village from 1747. The miner's tools in the base indicate the former coal mining. The colours of the upper part refer to the Counts of Veldenz, the lower of the Dukes of the Pfalz. The region first belonged to Veldenz, later to the Pfalz.
