HMS MARNE, ROYAL NAVY

Official blazon
English Blue; within a wreath of laurel gold a dolphin naiant white.

Origin/meaning

A First Wold War Battle. The Dolphin is from the arms of Field Marshal sir John French (1852-1925), the British Commander-in-Chief. He had begun his Career in the Royal Navy but transferred to the Army. The badge was approved in 1942.
