English | White; a cat-a-mountain sejant black semy of bezants holding in the dexter forepaw a mace erect proper. |
Origin/meaning
Viscount Sidmouth (as Herny Addington) was speaker of the House of Commons 1789-1805. The Mace was added to his arms (Cat) as a result. The badge was approved 28 January 1942.
