The arms were designed in 1981 as no historical arms or seals of the village were known. The village was for many centuries a possession of the Ottobeuren Abbey, which is shown in the arms. The colours are those of the Abbey and the mitre in the lower half also symbolises the Abbey. Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on September 9, 1982.
