Origin/meaning
He was the Prince-Provost of Ellwangen Abbey when he was also appointed as Bishop of Worms and 3 months later also as Bishop of Utrecht. For the latter he was never officially consecrated and he resigned in 1529 as the last Bishop of Utrecht.
He used a number of arms on his seals, in documents and on coins, combining (elements of) his personal arms with the arms of the dioceses and abbey. The personal arms were of the Counts of the Pfalz from the Wittelsbach dynasty; i.e. quartered the lion of the Pfalz and the diamonds of the Wittelsbach family.
The arms above show his arms as quartered Worms and Freising, with in a point the arms of Ellwangen and his personal arms as an inescutcheon.

In Freising he used for example his personal arms with only the Moor of the diocesan arms in the first quarter, or he used two shields, one of the diocese and one with the personal arms.
