Arms (crest) of Holeby

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially registered in 1977.

The upper part shows two sugarbeets, a symbol for the agricultural character of the region. The chevron is the dike that protects the southern coast of the island of Lolland. The pelican is taken from the arms of the medieval seal of the Fugl herred to which the area belonged.
