Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on July 29, 1986.

The double cross in the right half of the arms symbolises the Monastery of St. John in Memmingen, which holds the partonage of the local church since 1296. The green tree is a canting element for the town, holz=wood. At the same time the tree refers to the habit of the villagers of Schwaighausen to have church services under a tree prior to 1748 when the local chapel was built. Th ebase shows the Kohbach river that runs through the three villages in the municipality.
