Selected collector's items from Germany:

HUNDISBURG

State : Sachsen-Anhalt
District (Kreis) : Börde (until 2007 Ohrekreis)
Incorporated into : 1994 Haldensleben

Wappen von Hundisburg

Official blazon

(de) In Rot eine silberne Kirchturmruine mit schwarzen Öffnungen.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on January 16, 1992.

The arms show a church ruin. The ruin is all what is left of the village of Nordhusen, the predecessor of the village of Hundisburg, and dates from before the 12th century.

The silver colour symbolises the geological formation on which the village is built. This wthite/grey stone was historically used as a building material and both a number of buildings with this stone, as well as stone quarries can be found in the area.

The red-white also refers to the colours of the Diocese of Magdeburg, to which the area historically belonged.
