Origin/meaning

The rose represents the armiger's devotion to Our Lady of Guadalupe, who is associated with the miracle of the roses. The bear is a canting reference to their family name, Garcia, which traces to a Basque word for the animal. The eagle represents the armiger's patron saint, St. John the Apostle, as well as their home of Davao City.
The crest signifies the bearer is a knight of the Militia of the Immaculata, founded by St. Maximilian Kolbe.
The colour blue symbolizes heaven for the armiger, as well as truth and loyalty, while the red recalls the martyrdom of St. John the Apostle. Gold refers to generosity and elevation of the mind.
