Or, on a mount in base a pine-tree vert, over all a fess gules charged with three mullets of the field.
Motto: Deus incrementum dat

Origin/meaning

The pine-tree on a mount is from the arms of Pope Leo XIII who appointed him as bishop. The three stars on the fess are taken from the arms of some Monaghan family of Ireland and thus represent the last name of the bishop.

The motto is taken from the First Epistle of St. Paul the Apostle to the Corinthians, chapter 3, verse 7.
