Wappen von Template:PAGENNAME

Official blazon

In Blau auf silberner Schüssel das bärtige Haupt Johannes des Täufers.

Origin/meaning

The arms show the symbol of St. John Baptist, a head on a platter. The saint is the patron saint of the local church, which dates from around the 10-11th century. The village became a town (Markt) in 1413, but the oldest known seal dates from 1525. As all later seals and images, it showed the head and platter. The present colours are known since the middle of the last century.
