Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on December 3, 1959 and, without supporter, again on November 5, 1984.
The arms are identical to the arms of the de Bette family, who became Lords of Lede in 1556. Later they were promoted to Baron and Marquise, and the present arms show the arms with a crown of a Marquise. The arms were granted in 1959 with St. Mary a supporter, which was removed in 1984.
