Background

The album has been issued by the Island Council of Mallorca to promote the local history. INitially an album with 150 family arms was issued in 1984. Due to its success a second album with 150 arms was issued in 1987.

The album shows the arms of an extinct or present Mallorcan family, with the blazon and, in about half the cases, a few lines of background. Each page has 5 arms and each album has a few pages with (heraldic) background information.
