Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on June 11, 1995.

The arms are based on a seal dating to the end of the 17th or the beginning of the 18th centuries, found in the museum of Banská Bystrica. The plough and sickle on the seal are likely linked to the agricultural activity in the village, though historically it was also a mining village. This is referenced in the modern arms by the gold colour of the charges as gold was one of the products of the local mining industry. The blue shield was selected both to contrast well with the gold but also as a reference to the name of the village which can be translated to "between - fords". The blue thus references the water.
