History: The Military Governor of Lisbon excisted until 2006. During the years 1970-1993 it was known as Military Region of Lisbon.

Origin/meaning
The Brodure is Gules, the field Argent with a Cross Gules within a tressure Gules. Mantling Gules doubled Or. Crest a Tower tripletowered Or port and windows gules. The Cross symbolises St George in Portuguese S. Jorge and the Castelo de S. Jorge a Landmark in Lisbon.
