The arms were officially granted on August 1, 2005.
The arms refer to the local inventor Pšemislas Neveravičius, who constructed and in 1907 patented an 8-wheel truck, the prototype of modern trucks used by military, on icy terrain and in space research (the historic circumstances were against Neveravicius: he is not well known for the invention).
