History: Formed 15 February 1943 as VB-128, VPB-128: 1 October 1944–15 May 1946, VP-128: 15 May 1946–15 November 1946, VP-ML-1: 15 Nov 1946-1 Sep 1948 and from 1 September 1948 VP-1.

Homeport: NAS Whidbey Island, Washington.
