RAF STATION EL ADEM, ROYAL AIR FORCE

History: Formed at on December 12, 1942. It is situated 16 KM South of Tobruk in Libya. The RAF left the Station on March 31, 1970 and today it is the Gamal Abdul al Nasser Air Base.

In front of a broken Roman column a sprig of thorn.
Motto: Vincit qui patitur = He conquers who endures.

Origin/meaning

The Broken colum symbolises the Italian Forces beaten in the area. The Thorn symbolises the vegetation in the Area. The badge was approved in October 1953.
