Origin/meaning
The arms were granted in 1927.
The wavy bend is a canting symbol (Bach = stream). The two red bars are derived from the arms of the Lords of Breuberg. Sandbach belonged to the Breuberg Estate for many centuries. In 1323 the Lords of Breubach became extinct, and in 1556 the Estate became a possession of the Counts of Erbach. These ruled the Estate for many centuries and the star in the lower half is derived from the arms of the Counts of Erbach.
