Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on ?

The chief is based on the arms of the Cistercian Order and refers to the Lehnin Abbey, to which the area historically partly belonged. The chevron of bricks refers to the brick and tile industry established in the 19th century after the discovery of suitable clay.

The mushroom (Morchel, morel, Morchella sp.) is a canting element, as the name is derived from a Slavic term for 'the place where morels grow'.
