Coat of arms (crest) of Sorø

Origin/meaning

The arms were registered in 1903, 1991 and again on March 27, 2007.

The arms are based on the seal of the Sorø monastery from 1468. After the reformation the village continued to use the old seal, which eventually became the arms of the city.
