Origin/meaning

Dark blue is the colour traditionally associated with Infantry Units. The Red Bovine Skull is from the Insignia of the 34th Infantry Division. The Light Blue background alludes to the flag of Minnesota, the Home State of the Battalion. The Two Stars denote the Divisional Headquarters, that the Battalion supports. The Key signifies the Supply and Services responsibilities; the lightning bolt illustrates the communication capabilities provided by the Battalion.

The Coat of Arms and Distinctive Unit Insignia, was both approved on 26 June 2009.
