Distinctive Unit inisgnia, Description: A silver color device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height in form of a shield blazoned as follows: Argent, a bend sinister Azure (Teal Blue) charged with a lightning flash Or between in chief a buffalo Sable horned Argent to sinister and in base a North Star Gules. Attached below the device a blue designation scroll inscribed "VIGILANCE AND HONOR" in Silver letters.

Origin/meaning

The Buffalo respresents the strength derived for the personnel making up the Battalion. The Bend Sinister symbolises the 3rd Brigade. The Lightning Flash and North Star symbolises Intelligence Collection, Signal Capailities and Worldwide delopyability.
