THE HIGHLAND LIGHT INFANTRY (CITY OF GLASGOW REGIMENT), BRITISH ARMY
History: Raised in 1777 as the 73rd Foot (71st Foot in 1786) and in 1787 as the 74th Highland Regiment (74th Foot in 1816). In 1881 these two Regiments becom the 1st and 2nd Battalions of the Highland Light Infantry. In 1959 amalgamated with The Royal Scots Fusiliers, British Army to form The Royal Highland Fusiliers (Princess Margaret's Own Glasgow and Ayrshire Regiment, British Army.
