The crown is taken from the old arms of Amt Büchenbeuren, the chequered field is derived from the old arms of the Counts of Sponheim and the arms of Amt Kirchberg. The buckle is derived from the arms of the Lords of Schmidtburg and was part of the arms of Amt Gemünden.
