Escudo de azul, com pelourinho de prata realçado de negro, entre um pé de arroz e um pé de milho, tudo em ouro. Coroa mural de prata de quatro torres. Listel branco, com a legenda em maiúsculas a negro : “ VILA NOVA DE ANÇOS “.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on November 11, 2002.

The pillar in the arms is a local and National Monument and thus a landmark for the village. The rice and corn symbolise the agricultural character of the area. The blue shield symbolises the Arunca river that flows through the municipality.
