Origin/meaning

The grain ears and the mill iron in the shield indicate the occupations of the armiger's ancestors, who were farmers and millers in the East German provinces. The great-grandfather's and great-great-grandfather's mill, which already stood in Krehlau (Silesia) before 1800, was still called "Schrödter Mill" by the inhabitants in World War II times. This branch of the family has been resident in Berlin for two generations. Therefore, the heraldic animal of the city of birth, the Berlin bear, was placed as a crest. The cross in the bear's paws symbolises the Christian faith of the whole line. Black, red and gold symbolise Germany.
