Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on December 7, 1844.

The arms show a gravestone (grafzerk), making it a canting element. The arms are based on an image on a map dating from the 17th century. There is no other historical evidence for the arms and the meaning of the two deer antlers is unknown.

Literature: Servais, 1955
