ZONNEBLOEM BOYS PRIMARY SCHOOL

Country: South Africa
Campus/location : Cape Town

Coat of arms (crest) of Zonnebloem Boys Primary School
Official blazon
Afrikaans blazon wanted
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms are not officially granted.

The cross indicates that the school was founded by Bishop Grey as the Diocesan College in 1849. Soon after it was renamed Bishops College. Since 1860 it is known as Zonnebloem (sunflower), and the bordure thus shows a number of sunflowers.

The motto Et Filii Lucis Ambulate translates as "walk as the children of the light”.
