PAUL LANNEAU

Born : July 22, 1925
Deceased : January 26, 2017

Auxiliary Bishop of Mechelen-Brussel, 1982-2002; Titular Bishop of Tusuros

Arms of Paul Lanneau

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The star in chief is taken from the arms of Cardinal Godfried Danneels under whom Bishop Lanneau served.

The iris flower is the symbol of the Brussels Region. The colours red and green are those of the city of Brussels.

The bend represents the kingship of Christ who makes us participate in the loving kingdom of God, as symbolised by the heart.

The achievement is completed with the heraldic insignia of a prelate of the rank of bishop.
