History: Raised in 1902 as the North of Ireland Imperial Yeomanry, renamed in 1908 as North Irish Horse. After Service in World War 1 it ws during the inter-war years reduced to one man. It was reraised for service in World War II and disbanded in 1946. In 1947 the Regiment was reformed and in 1967 disbanded as a Regiment and reorganised as D Squadron Royal Yeomanry. In 1969 the B Squadron was redesignated as 69 (North Irish Horse) Signal Squadron, 32 (Scottish) Signal Regiment. Today the traditions are carried on by B (North Irish Horse) Squadron, The Scottish and North Irish Yeomanry and the Signal Squadron ws renumbered 40 (North Irish Horse) Signal Squadron, 32 Signal Regiment. | |||
