===Origin/meaning===
The arms were officially granted on March 18, 1976.

====Official blazon====
The axes are taken from the coat of arms of Sebastián Machado, the founder of a rather primitive urban settlement at the beginning of the  17th century. The crown, only a coronet reminds on the fact, that Tacoronte was capital of one of the nine mini-kingdoms, called "menceyatos", that had been established on Tenerife in times of the Guanches. Tacoronte is the Spanish transmogrification of the Guanche word "Tagoro", being on top of the bordure. The meaning of that word (also known as "tagoror") is a council of seniors, helping the local mencey(="king").

====Origin/meaning====
The vine-leafs symbolise the successful production of vines in the region.
