+The arrow symbolises flight and symbolises the Regiment's function. The per saltire division alludes to Kansas called Crossroads of the Nation. The Regiment was activated in this State in 1966 as the 9th Aviation Battalion. The bamboo circlet, bezant and feathered arrow shafts with the three red bands from the Flag of the Republic of Vietnam, symbolises the Battle of Rach Kien. For which the Unit received the Valorous Unit Award. The five featherd arrow shafts further allude to the combined group of decorations earned by the Unit.
