Shoulder Sleeve Insignia.  Description:  On a white disc 2 3/4 inches (6.99 cm) in diameter, edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) blue border, the representation of a Hawaiian “Menehune” in blue with white detail lines defining a traditional costume and spear held vertically and pointed downward, the shaft penetrating a ring of 9/32 inch (.71 cm) blue letters following the curve of the circle reading “WAIMEA HIGH SCHOOL”.  Overall, across the base, a horizontal white tab 2 3/4 inches (6.99 cm) wide inscribed “MENEHUNES” in blue letters and edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) blue border.  The overall dimensions are 3 inches (7.62 cm) wide at the widest point of the circle and 3 1/4 inches (8.26 cm) in height to include the tab. 


Shoulder Loop Insignia.  Description:  A Silver color metal and enamel device 1 3/16 inches (3.02 cm) in height overall, consisting of a shield per fess indented Azure and Vert, overall three Menehune warriors one affronté spear point forward held at waist level between two crouching, spears at head level one facing dexter and one to sinister Argent; on a chief of the like a mount of the second charged with a sailing ship traversed in dexter Silver, beneath a cloud Proper.  Attached to base a scroll White inscribed with the motto “DEEDS NOT WORDS” in base metal.

Shoulder Loop Insignia:  Blue and white are the school colors.  In chief a depiction of the island and the arrival of Captain Cook’s sailing ship.  The shield is divided by an indented line referring to the sugar cane fields that gave rise to the growth of the area.  The Menehune warrior is the school’s mascot chosen for its fighting spirit and industrious abilities, indicative of the cadets’ commitment to school and community.
The Shoulder Sleeve Insignia and the Shoulder Loop Insignia was both approved on 11 October 2001.
