The gold key reflect control over supplies and refer to the Unit's origin as the 142nd Quartermaster Battalion. The Taeguk reflects the Service in the Korean War. The Sword alludes to the Motto and combat participation. The Mill rind symbolises Support. World War II campaigns in Europe, Africa and the Middle East are recalled by the straigth sword, quiver with arrow and the scimitar respectively. The Taeguk refers to service during the Korean War.
The coat of Arms was approved for the 142nd Supply and Service Battalion on 18 February 1993. It was redesignated for the 142th support Battalion with symbolism revised on 23 June 1993. It was amended to include a crest on 16 October 2006. The Distinctive Unit Insignia was approved for the 142nd Supply and Service Battalion on 10 February 1981. It was amended to include metric measurments in teh descirption and revised the symbolism on 18 February 1993. The Insignia was redesignated for the 142nd Support Battalion with description revised on 23 June 1993.
