| The arms were granted in 1901.

| The origin or meaning of the duck's foot is not clear. The symbol was already used on the border stones surrounding the village in the 18<sup>th</sup> century. Whether it really was a duck's foot or simply a fork-like symbol is not known. In any case the oldest seal of the village, known from 1760, as well as all later seals show a shield with a foot. In 1901 the colours of Baden were chosen, as no historical colours were known.
