====Origin/meaning====
===Origin/meaning===
The origin of the dog is not clear, it may be canting from Hund-stein (Hund is dog). The dog already appeared on the oldest known seal of the city, dating from the 16th century. The seal also showed the trefoil, the origin thereof is not known. Later seals show a forest behind the dog and even later seals only show the dog. The colours were not known. Hupp based the arms on the latest seals, whereas the city in the 20th century returned to the oldest seal.
