Origin/meaning

The golden bend in the arms is taken from the arms of the Counts of Châlon, Lords of Arlay, to which also Fontain belonged.

The oak tree refers to the local forests, known for its oak trees.

The fountain is a canting element and also refers to the many springs in the municipality.
