FRAIN
Département : Vosges
French | Burelé d'or et de sable, chapé d'argent chargé de deux feuilles de frêne de sinople. |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The black and golden bars are taken from the arms of the Deuilly family, former lords of the family. The pile represents a cloak cut into two pieces and thus is a symbol for St. Martin of Tours, the local patron saint. The ash (frêne) leaves area a canting element.
