Origin/meaning

The arms were officially adopted in 2017.

The arms show in the first quarter St. Christopher, the patron saint of the village of Peyre. The sheep refers to the (formerly) importance of sheep farming. The lion is taken from the arms of the Vézins-de-Lévézou family, former lords of the village. The cros sis the symbol of the Occitane region.
