Origin/meaning

The arms were adopted in 2013.

The bar shows the elements of the old arms of the village, see below. The lion is taken from the arms of Montfort l'Amaury, lord of the village in the 13th century. The wheat ears symbolise agriculture, the oak leaves the large (oak) forests, and the wheel symbolises industry, especially the long tradition of milling in the village.

The old arms were those of the former Abbey of Haute-Bruyère, to which the village histrocally belonged.
