VERMONT

Origin/meaning

The "view" is of the Green Mountain range as seen from the west (in the Champlain Valley) looking east (towards the high peaks). The high mountain on the left side is Mount Mansfield. The high one on the right is Camel's Hump.

The cow represents Vermont's dairy industry and the 3 stacks of wheat represent farming. The tree is the Vermont State Seal Pine tree. The green branches on each side of the shield are white pine, for Vermont's forests.

The stags head in the crest symbolises Vermont's wildlife.

The arms are also part of the seal of the State:
